The LOAD is an Italian hybrid rock ’n’ roll band, blending pop sensibility with raw singer-songwriter energy. Born out of late-night jams and high school chaos, the band was founded by Leo Meconi and Santo, moving from rehearsal rooms to stages across Italy in early 2023. The lineup later solidified with Matras on electric guitar and Matto on the bass, adding weight to their sound. Their music shifts between loud and stripped-back, always anchored in something direct and unfiltered. Live, it leans into that tension — mostly original songs, with a few carefully chosen covers that hint at where they come from. Frontman Leo Meconi has also released three solo albums. His latest, Heaven (November 2024), was produced and co-written by Don Mescall, a multi-platinum name behind some of the biggest international acts of the ’90s and 2000s. Now based in Boston and attending Berklee College of Music, The LOAD is writing new music. More to come.
